HULK AND POWERGIRL!
Okay, back to the Hulk (see below). Only this time, I'm throwing in a girl character, well, because I like drawing them! It's Powergirl. She's kinda DC's version of Supergirl's older sister. I didn't have any reference for her so forgive any costume mistakes I've made. Anyway, I thought I'd make this blog a contest! Put in a comment with your favorite version and the one with the most "picks" will be the one I do up as a final for Drawergeeks. You can pick a Powergirl from one version and a Hulk from another version too. The winner(s) all get a PIECE of the original rough drawing to split!!! :) (please notice the sarcastic "happy face" symbol) These are all first time roughs, so hopefully I will refine the final and make it even stronger (God willing). BTW, They are in numbered in order of how I drew them so you can see a bit of an evolution in poses and character designs. Weird thing is, whenever I do a few versions of anything, I usually end up liking the first and the last versions most. I think I try harder on the first one, get sloppy in the middle, and try again at the end. Let me know your thoughts.
(PS> I can't get Blogger to put these in correct numbered order, so go by the number on the drawing, not where it is in the "lineup" here.)
I like Powergirl #4 and Hulk #5. Can you combine those two?
ReplyDelete- Tim
P.S. I can show you how to post your pics in order. Just a matter of cutting and pasting the hypertext mumbo-jumbo.
Hey Tom! They're all great sketches, but for me, I like #2 the best.I love the way the Hulk is all angry and pounding the ground and only inches away Power girl is just standing there, completely uneffected by his rage. I thought it was funny anyway. So yeah #2 gets my vote. Lookin' forward to seeing the final.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Timmy, I like Hulk and the powergirl #4. This looks awesome, I can't wait to see the finished version, you gonna ink it or use the computer?
ReplyDeleteWhoops, it skipped the number for Hulk.
ReplyDelete#5 Hulk and #4 Girl
Wow these are fun!
ReplyDeleteFor me it's Hulk #5 PowerGirl #4 (which looking at the other comments seems to be the consensus so far)
Looking forward to the finish piece!
My wife loves #2. It reminds her of when I try to get my way throwing my weight around she stands firm no matter what I say or do. Hulk’s expression and actions says it all as Power Girl doesn’t even flinch. As for me I love.... wait I better say #2. I have learn to pick my battles:-)
ReplyDeleteHey Tom,
ReplyDeleteI also like #4 Power Girl and #5 Hulk. Whichever you decide to do, please e-mail me a scan of the pencils so that I can ink it. :)
Hi Tom..Love your drawings..I am a big fan and have enjoyed seeing your work. Keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteCoool action drawings! V animated!
ReplyDeleteHey Tom! Man, I'd love to see these animated! Those are some good "keys". My vote though will have to go to #4, because of the visual flow of the sketch. It's seem to be the most dynamic. Can't wait to see the finish version! Have a blessed 2006!
ReplyDeleteI gotta go with #2 for pretty much the same reasons Miah said. Fun contrast between the two of them. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Nice Hulk stuff - I like the sheer mass and strength captured in these sketches!

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for all the comments and "picks". As of now, Hulk #5 combined with PG #4 are both the front runners. I'll probably wait until the end of today (Fri) or Monday till I get impatient and do up the "Winner". I don't usually wait this long to refine a sketch and it's starting to bug me!
ReplyDeleteI hate making decissions like this, I like 'em all. But I guess I have to go for PG/Hulk 4. Though PG 1, Hulk 3 would be equally as awesome. Look forward to the finished pic!
ReplyDeleteif I'm, not too late... I vote for #4... has a good feel to it...
ReplyDelete# 4 has the nicest flow. #2 is the funniest. # 5 is cool as well.
